People all around us are lost and looking for life from sources that can never truly satisfy their hearts and souls. Jesus says they are "harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd." For 8 years, before joining staff with Venture, I served with a Christian college ministry, and got to see this first-hand as students would chase the dream of fulfilling life, only to end up empty. Not only did I get to see the brokenness of students, but I also got to see the Gospel transform their lives and grow them into mature, godly men and women. The Gospel of Jesus is the only true answer to the problems we see around us and the aching of the human heart.
God has given me a heart that longs to see men of all ages transformed by the Gospel and grown into mature, godly husbands, fathers, leaders, workers, and friends. Through evangelism and discipleship, this can become the reality for more and more men. I am excited to play a role in this!
Living in central Oregon, I connect with students on our two local college campuses, helping them grow in their walk with God and connecting them with other men who are pursuing Jesus so that they can walk this journey with strong brothers. Beyond this, I partner with various churches, ministries, and men's groups locally and across the Pacific Northwest, offering trainings, retreats, and guided outdoor adventures that focus on seeing the Gospel and other biblical topics brought to life through hands-on experiences such as backpacking, fishing, hiking, canoeing, and wilderness skills training. I am also passionate about hunting, and I am seeing more and more men of all ages becoming interested in learning this valuable skill. Because of this, I also guide hunting trips around central Oregon and write Gospel-focused hunting devotions that make these trips into opportunities for spiritual development.
