Operation Outcast
Issac Barnhart of Operation Outcast served nearly eleven years in the United States Army as an airborne infantry soldier and Apache helicopter pilot. God in His providence allowed Issac to be treated with a myriad of secular psychotherapies after three combat tours of duty. These included CBT, Trauma emersion therapy (the predecessor to trauma informed therapy) and others. All of these secular therapies brought more bondage and diminished hope. Only the Gospel of Jesus demonstrated its power to set him free from PTSD, depression and other psychologic diagnoses. He is now passionate about helping others see how the various aspects of the Gospel offer true and lasting change due to the hope found in Jesus Christ. Issac is nearly complete with a Batchelor’s degree in Biblical Counseling and his ACBC certification. He has ambitions to complete graduate work while ministering to the military community. Issac is also working on a book, All POWs, that details his personal experiences with secular therapy and how Jesus is better in every way.
Kaci (Issac’s wife) is passionate not only about the Gospel but also about helping Issac reach the military community specifically. Having experienced four suicides in her family, she knows the Gospel is the only hope for the military community who is burdened with decades of ever-increasing suicide rates due to those who feel like outcasts. She is passionate to share the Good News which changes her painful experiences into purposeful ones.
