I transferred to Texas State in 2023 from San Antonio, drawn in by the school’s reputation for its vibrant party and bar scene. At the time, that lifestyle was exactly what I wanted—I was partying nearly every weekend, thinking I was living my best life. But it didn’t take long for me to realize how empty and unfulfilling that lifestyle truly was.
Not long after I started attending Texas State University, I attended a CRU worship night. God used that night to tug at my heart and create a longing for Him I’d never felt before. The very next day, someone invited me to a CRU weekly meeting where I heard the Good News of Jesus Christ. My heart was immediately opened, and Jesus began to radically transform my life.
That summer, I joined a nine-week mission trip to San Diego with CRU. I came back with a deep fire in my heart to reach men—especially those in Greek life. Many of my friends are in fraternities, and I’ve walked through some of the same struggles they face. I believe Jesus has called me to bring the hope and miracles He’s worked in my life directly into the Greek community at Texas State.
One passage that anchors my ministry is 1 Corinthians 3:5–8, which reminds me that while I may plant or water, it is God who gives the growth. My role is simply to be faithful.
