Jarred McKinney Support
Since becoming a Christian in college, I’ve been fortunate to be involved in one way or another with God’s work through the global church. Before coming to Spoken, I spent 11 months volunteering in orphanages and ministries around the world. After this, I attended Emory University, where I completed my Master of Theological Studies. While there, I also met my would-be wife, Tala. Upon graduating, I moved to Tala’s hometown of Bethlehem, Palestine. Tala and I would marry there and then return to the United States, where I would begin my Master of Divinity at Duke Divinity School while she completed her PhD from Emory University in World Christianity. Now, we find ourselves in Knoxville, TN where we are active members of our local Anglican parish. I am thrilled to join in the good work of Spoken Worldwide, helping oral learners gain access to Holy Scripture. What a joy it is to work alongside global Christians as they produce Oral Bibles in their mother tongue, breaking down the barriers that literacy standards and other Western modes of knowing have imposed upon the majority world.
