In some countries, pastors are arrested and church leaders are targeted with violence. Why? The persecutors believe they can stop the church if they get rid of its leaders. 

And truthfully, many of them are not equipped to handle that kind of persecution, let alone lead their flock to respond in a God-honouring way. Some are appointed pastor simply because they were the only one in the group who could read. And often their circumstances do not allow them the luxury of formal theological training. 

But you can help to strengthen and train pastors and church leaders to ensure that when persecution comes against the church, they will be fully equipped and will also have trained others who are prepared to step up.
