Preventable Diseases
Why Preventable Diseases?
Preventable diseases have devastating health, social, and economic consequences. The COVID-19 pandemic revealed to every nation the need to strengthen health system preparedness and capacity, but this is especially critical in low-income countries where those living in poverty can’t access or afford health services. Many of the diseases plaguing communities can be combated with preventative services like immunizations, basic medications, and mosquito prevention. Supporting projects that expand access to healthcare, educate individuals on preventative measures, and improve the quality of care can significantly reduce the contraction, transmission, and fatality rates of preventable diseases.
