Support Kijana Love, Nations of Coaches Associate Character Coach
Kijana is a San Antonio native and the son of Kevin and Ondrea Love. He is the second oldest of five siblings; his younger brother, Langston Love, is currently a starting guard for Baylor University Men’s Basketball.
Kijana has been involved in basketball since early childhood. He was a three-year letterman at Bryon P. Steele High School. He played collegiately at the University of New Hampshire and St. Edwards University and finished his career at Baylor University for the 2021-2022 season.
During his senior season at Baylor, the Lord began to grow a desire within Kijana to challenge his fellow student-athletes to “think” beyond just the game of basketball. He wanted them to consider and ponder that they were made to be more than just “really” good at basketball; they were created with great purpose for God.
Upon finishing his collegiate career at Baylor, Kijana was invited by Baylor’s staff to become a Graduate Assistant. He thrived the last two seasons as a tremendous mentor in the development of players in their game and spiritually in their hearts. Coach Scott Drew said of Kijana, “He’s the first graduate assistant I’ve seen begin his workout with a player with prayer!”
Kijana will begin his pursuit of a seminary degree this fall at George W. Truett Seminary on the beautiful campus of Baylor University. He will assist Scott Brewer, who is serving in his 12th season as the full-time character coach for Baylor Men’s basketball. Kijana will serve in all aspects of sports ministry as an Associate Character Coach for the 2024-2025 season.
