Life is valuable beyond measure.
While our culture says life is disposable, God says, "I have called you by name, you are mine."
Every human is created in the image of God which gives each life intrinsic value and worth. The very young, the very old, the healthy, the sick, the rich and the poor. We are equally loved and valued by God which means every life is worthy of care and respect
Sadly, many lives are lost each year to abortion. In 2022, there were 34,838 abortions in the state of Pennsylvania. The combined populations of Pottsville, Orwigsburg, Pine Grove, Schuylkill Haven, and Tamaqua barely represent the number of lives taken by abortion in ONE year in PA. Imagine the largest towns in Schuylkill County - empty - tens of thousands of people who never had a chance to live out their purpose in this world.
But there is hope. Organizations like Jewel Women’s Center exist to defend and protect vulnerable lives by offering hope to young people facing an unplanned pregnancy. Thanks to the generosity of people who are passionate about life, Jewel is able to provide free services such as:
- pregnancy testing
- ultrasound
- STD testing
- pregnancy options consultations
- pregnancy and parenting education
- post-abortion support
- relationship education
Each January we kick off the new year with our Baby Bottle Campaign! Filling a baby bottle with spare change and returning it to Jewel is a simple way you can make a difference! During our first year as a medical facility in 2021, 16 young women chose life as a result of coming to Jewel. As of January 1, 2024, that number has grown to 96 women who chose life after coming to Jewel! You are making a difference for life! Thank you for your support!
