Human life begins at conception! The very moment an egg and sperm unite, they immediately cease to be part of the humans from whom they originated and a brand-new human with a unique combination of 46 chromosomes – 23 from the father and 23 from the mother - is created! This new, genetically unique person bears the image of our Creator and begins to rapidly grow and develop. Within 5 weeks, he or she has a beating heart. By 8 weeks, all organs are present and features like ears, teeth, fingers, and toes will soon be forming.
Sadly, over 850,000 new lives are ended in the U.S. each year by abortion. Imagine for a moment… 3 elementary schools in our community... completely empty. According to the PA Department of Health, Schuylkill County reported 1,529 abortions from 2010 through 2015. Had those babies been given life, they would now be in grades K-5. We could fill 3 elementary schools with the children who are missing from our community due to abortion. Something needs to change!
