Rescue. Restore. Rebuild.
Christian converts will face ultimatums to revert to Islam or die.
Afghanistan is embroiled in a dire and dangerous situation. The situation is changing rapidly and our Help The Persecuted team is in touch daily with persecuted believers trapped inside Afghanistan as well as officials and partners working to help evacuate individuals and families.
At the ground level, what we are hearing is that Christians (most of whom are Muslim converts) are known by the Taliban. It is only a matter of time before they face death. One of our team members received a desperate and heartbreaking voice mail this week from a young woman, speaking barely above a whisper,
“I am very worried and my last hope is for you to get us out of here. My father has been missing since yesterday and we cannot find him. And we are afraid that the Taliban will attack our house. And we are afraid to they take young women and girls with them…We are waiting for your call and action."
I am extremely grateful for our team who are moving quickly to find ways to help Afghanis in crisis, particularly these converts. Our Field Ministry Team is developing plans with local Christians to help with:
- Temporary housing and living expenses as many are fleeing
- Transportation to safe locations
- Medical expenses for the injured and those who now have no access to critical medications
Isaiah 59:1 tells us, “Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear.”
We are grateful to serve a might God who hears our prayers!
