From Foundation to Finish—You Can Help Complete Staff Housing
This past year at Oak Forest Retreat and Conference Center, we’ve seen God do incredible things. Adults have found rest, church groups have deepened in fellowship, and countless guests have been renewed in their walk with Christ. Behind every retreat, every meal, and every life touched stands a faithful team of staff - people whose ministry is made possible through friends like you.
As Oak Forest grows, so does the need for staff housing. Until now, limited on-site housing has made it difficult for year-round staff to find affordable homes nearby. To meet this need, we’re building a new triplex housing unit that will give three staff families a stable, welcoming place to live and serve. Psalm 127:1 reminds us, “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” Friends like you are helping “build the house” and strengthen ministry at Oak Forest.
Construction is well underway! The foundation and porch have been poured, utilities are in, and plumbing is progressing. So far, $290,000 has been given toward our $455,000 goal - enough to enclose the building. The remaining $165,000 will carry us through drywall, painting, flooring, cabinetry, and furnishings.
Your Giving Tuesday gift on December 2 can go twice as far! Thanks to a generous $25,000 matching challenge, every dollar you give will be doubled - up to $25,000.
Here’s how your gift makes a difference:
• $100 – Provides finishing touches like paint and fixtures
• $500 – Furnishes essentials for a living space
• $1,000 – Supports flooring and cabinetry
• $5,000 – Covers major construction needs
Every gift – large or small - moves this project forward, creating a strong foundation for staff and ministry.
With gratitude,

Jim Houser
Director of Oak Forest Retreat & Conference Center
