Help Children Start the School Year Strong
The beginning of the school year is a critical time of development for so many kids. Having the tools to start the year off right means children like Joshua and Mira have a better chance keeping up with peers, succeeding in the classroom and finding stability.
About three years ago, Joshua and Mira were placed in foster care with Bianca and Guadalupe after experiencing physical abuse and neglect. The siblings quickly began to flourish in their new home. Joshua and Mira both became more self-assured, confident and talkative.
Then, this spring Bianca and Guadalupe and their five biological children became Joshua and Mira’s forever family. Whenever they can, the family enjoys spending time together outside — especially going to the beach.
Joshua and Mira are starting the fourth and fifth grades, respectively, this fall. Many children just like them who were recently adopted or are in foster care need essential supplies to help start the school year off strong.
