Founded in 1842, Cumberland University has been known as a prestigious liberal arts university for nearly two centuries and now has a living alumni base of over 8,000 alumni. With that being said, Cumberland just wouldn’t be what it is today without the generosity and support of alumni like you. By purchasing a membership in The 1842 Society, you help strengthen the alumni association and CU while also receiving benefits just from being a part of it. With your support, we can provide scholarships for students who need financial assistance. 

Your 1842 Society dues enable you to contribute to CU which benefits our current and future students. With your membership, you will receive a copy of our biannual Phoenix Rising magazine.
