What is CBI Counseling?
CBI Counseling began in 2015 following a providential conversation between CBI Executive Director Brett Rayl and Dr. John Piper concerning the need for more Christian counseling training and resources in Japan. Inspired to share more about this need, Dr. Piper wrote a blog post entitled, “Biblical Counseling and the Great Commission”. In response to this article a number of pastors and Christian counselors reached out to CBI and offered to help. Later that same year, the Christian Counseling for Japan (CCFJ) Project was launched and the CCFJ Task Force was formed. CBI Counseling is the fruit of that CCFJ Project.
With the goal of encouraging a gospel movement for the growth and multiplication of the church in Japan, CBI Counseling focuses on three primary areas: Resourcing, Training, and Counseling.
