Myanmar Earthquake Relief
On March 28, 2025, a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Sagaing Province, Myanmar, with a depth of 10 km. The tremor had widespread impact, causing severe damage across multiple cities in Myanmar and affecting neighbouring Thailand. The earthquake led to extensive destruction in Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw, and 26 other towns. In Bangkok, a 30-story building collapsed due to the tremors.
As of April 3, Myanmar’s official reports confirmed approximately 2,900 deaths, 4,600 injuries, and over 320 missing persons. However, independent media sources estimate the death toll exceeds 3,100. Since the initial quake, over 200 aftershocks have been recorded, further complicating rescue and relief efforts.
Our partner in Myanmar has mobilized a relief team to reach areas that external resources have been unable to access. This initiative aims to support 150 families affected by the earthquake with essential supplies such as food, water, temporary shelters, tarps, and mosquito nets. Our partner is working closely with local pastors in the affected regions, not only to provide physical aid but also to offer emotional and spiritual support. This response reflects Christ’s love and the integral gospel, embracing a broken world with compassion and care.
