The escalating military conflict across the Middle East is having devastating consequences.
Children and families are facing death, injury, displacement, and the collapse of essential services.
Our partners are opening their doors and extending hospitality to those who have nowhere else to go.
We are inviting your support.
In recent days, conflict has intensified across parts of the country, particularly in southern Lebanon, the Bekaa Valley, and the southern suburbs of Beirut. Airstrikes have forced hundreds of thousands of people to leave their homes, often with little more than what they can carry. Families are moving north in search of safety, uncertain where they will find shelter or how long they will remain displaced.
Many of those fleeing have arrived in communities already stretched by years of instability. Since 2019, Lebanon has faced overlapping political, economic, and social crises that have placed enormous pressure on everyday life. The country is also home to an estimated 1.5 million Syrian refugees, the largest number of refugees per capita in the world. As the current violence escalates, the strain on communities and humanitarian resources continues to grow.
In response, CBM’s partner, the Arab Baptist Theological Seminary (ABTS) in Beirut, has opened its campus to receive families displaced by the violence. Dormitories normally used by theology students are being transformed into temporary living spaces for parents, children, and elderly relatives seeking safety. The guesthouse and dorms have already welcomed many people who have fled their homes, and more continue to arrive.
CBM is seeking to raise $80,000 over the next 14 days to help our partners continue providing shelter, meals, and care during this difficult moment.
Will you join us in responding to the urgent needs of families displaced by the violence in Lebanon?
